Creekside Place
Renovation
Details
The project began after the homeowner discovered multiple plumbing leaks in their 1350 sqft. Whistler three-storey townhouse following a freeze event while the tenants were away. The heating system had failed, causing the copper waterlines throughout the unit to freeze and burst.
Inspection revealed extensive damage, requiring a full replacement of all water lines.
The renovation had a strict budget ceiling of $300,000.
Working with Schreyer Construction’s in-house designer, the team developed a strategy to restore the home with practical upgrades and long-lasting materials.
The project included the installation of a new hot water tank, added insulation in accessible floor cavities above the stilted foundation to reduce cold infiltration, and the replacement of drywall in all areas affected by water damage. Safe-n-Sound batt insulation was installed to improve acoustic performance.
All three bathrooms, the kitchen, and the laundry room were fully renovated. High-quality shower inserts were used in two bathrooms to manage costs, while the main floor bathroom features a tub and shower with a decorative tile surround.
A new IKEA kitchen and bathroom vanities were installed by Schreyer Construction’s in-house team, complemented by quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, a tiled backsplash, and new plumbing fixtures.
Durable vinyl plank flooring was installed.
Additional upgrades included new lighting fixtures throughout the home, new laundry machines, updated window coverings, a ceiling fan and powered blinds in the dining area, a charcoal-filtered range hood system, new interior doors and hardware, and a full interior repaint.
