The owners of this mountain retreat chose to expand the existing space by 600s.f. (unique permitted situation in the complex) and gut the entire interior to upgrade absolutely everything, including all systems, such as plumbing, wiring and insulation.

Objectives

To accommodate the owners desire for a bigger living area with large windows and doors, extensive structural changes were required, especially for the roof structure and west face of the home.

The master ensuite expansion offers the couple a spacious room, closet and generous master bath. The originally enclosed master bedroom was turned into a loft, which opens to the rest of the living space and reveals beautiful views of Rainbow Mountain.

All finishes were done in local Douglas Fir to sustain a Whistler Mountain feel.
